Dry Skin Remedies- The Top 4 I Swear By

Dry Skin Remedies

Today I am going to talk about my dry skin remedies and things that I love using to make sure that my skin doesn’t dry out.  I usually have oily skin, but my skin tends to get pretty dry in the winter.  Now I understand that LA does not get as cold as most of the rest of the country, but our humidity level is extremely low.   I therefore usually have to battle dry skin to some degree all the time.  These are the Dry Skin Remedies that work for me.

For the Face

I have oily skin, so I always make sure that the items I choose are non-comedogenic.  It can often be a hard balance to find Dry Skin Remedies for the face that are moisturizing enough without the use of heavy oils.  These two below do just that.

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream– I received a sample of this oil-free cream this past summer and I’ve been a fan of it ever since. I took the sample with me on a trip to Palm Springs, which as you probably know is extremely dry, and this really helps combat dryness on my face. I’ve been in love with it ever since.

Mario Badescu Herbal Hydrating Serum– I have been using the serum for over 10 years. The Mario Badescu headquarters was actually a block away from my apartment in New York.  I was always intrigued when I saw women with their little Maria Badescu bags walking by me on the street, so I decided to drop in one day. This serum is something that they suggested for me for the dryness on my face that was caused by constantly blowing my nose due to allergies. So if you have dry flaky skin on your nose, or anywhere on your face, this is the perfect thing for you.  It’s oil-free, so it doesn’t make me break out. I absolutely love it and it’s the only thing that I’ve found that really works.

For the Body

I hate having itchy dry skin (who doesn’t).  These Dry Skin Remedies for the body give you just enough moisture without leaving a greasy residue.  All you’re left with is hydrated great looking skin.

L’Occitane Almond Smoothing and Beautifying Supple Skin Oil– I received a sample of this in November and I love the way it goes on so easily.  You don’t need very much and it sinks right into your skin without leaving an oily residue. I apply it to my skin it right after the shower while my skin is still damp, this really locks in the moisture.  There is a nice light scent that I personally like. It does have almond oil in it so if you’re allergic this would not be the solution for you.

Bliss Oh, That’s Rich Ultra Silky-Sheen Body Cream This is another one that I’ve been using for years.  I have been going to the Bliss Spa forever and I’ve been using it ever since it came out about seven or eight years ago. It has colloidal oatmeal which really helps to lock in moisture but it doesn’t feel too heavy. When I travel, like to take the travel size version with me because I know that it can serve as a body cream as well as a hand cream.

So there you have my dry skin remedies I swear by. Let me know if you try these out. Do you have any I missed? Let me know in the comments below.
